Some partnerships grow over years, and then comes the moment when you dare something bigger together. In July 2025 we brought two films from the Doxumentale to Belgrade and Srebrenica, united by a shared belief in curatorial dialogue across borders.
On 14 and 17 July, Dorćol Platz, a vibrant cultural space in Belgrade, screened “Ouvidor” with director Matias Borgström in attendance and “Where Dragons Live” with its two protagonists Harriet and Matthew, together with the Veselin Simonović Foundation and the Beldocs International Documentary Festival. This relationship has deepened over two years: Beldocs has supported our curation by recommending outstanding films from the region, and the Simonović Foundation contributed a photo exhibition and a public talk on the Serbian protest movement to the 2025 Doxumentale.
On 16 July, the Silver Frame Film Festival in Srebrenica screened “Where Dragons Live.” For the second year in a row, I was invited as an honorary selector to curate one international feature for the official programme. Silver Frame is a discerning festival whose programmers bring experience from Cannes to Sundance.
The exchange was supported by the Berlin Senatskanzlei through the European Film Network Fonds. For us, this is exactly the proof: TGMN builds sustainable cross-border collaborations, and we are invited internationally as curators.
